Patients will also be instructed to avoid engaging in strenuous physical activity for around 24 to 48 hours following their procedure to further minimize swelling or bruising of the lips. Makeup should also be avoided for the treated area within that first day or two.

To help the filler settle evenly, the specialist will recommend that patients massage the treated area, and sleep with their head elevated while avoiding sleeping on their face. Within two weeks, the filler should be completely settled, and the lips should be healed, with any swelling or irritation having subsided entirely.
